Peugeot 3008 sets a ‘fantastic’ new fuel efficiency record of 27 km per liter

After the successful first staging of the Peugeot Eco Fun Run last June 27, where an amazing record of 26.9 kilometer per liter was set by the media team of Brian Afuang and Jenny Bleza, a new record was achieved last Aug. 17 by veteran race car driver Mike Potenciano and his teammate Lindy Pelicer: an astounding 27 kpl.

Potenciano and Pelicer—who were among the guests invited to participate in the event—achieved the fantastic fuel mileage number on a very rainy Saturday with their Peugeot 3008 1.6 eHDi’s airconditioner turned on—something unheard of in fuel economy runs.

Traversing the familiar Subic to Manila route that had several traffic chokepoints, the winning team achieved the feat in just a little over two hours, proving that even through normal  driving conditions, the Peugeot 3008 1.6 eHDi is truly a fuel miser.

Furthermore, while the previous staging of the Peugeot Eco Fun Run had only media practitioners as participants, the recent eco run had eight teams of Peugeot car owners as participants. In the end, the pair of Christopher Lu and Angelo Salazar—who have had absolutely no previous experience in fuel economy runs—posted a very-impressive 24.3 kpl, proving that anyone driving smartly in his/her own unique styles can achieve fantastic fuel mileage numbers on board the Peugeot 3008 1.6 eHDi.

With Peugeot’s leadership in diesel technology, Eurobrands Distributor Inc. (EDI) officials are confident about their offerings’ fuel-saving capabilities. The Peugeot Eco Fun Run is simply a way of getting this message across to a greater number of people, they said.

Mabilog Jr., who was very pleased after the new record has been set. The Peugeot Eco Fun Run will be staged again twice in September.
