Hyundai reveals all-new Tucson SUV

Hyundai Tucson - FrontAfter a brief four years since the previous generation, Hyundai is wasting no time in launching an all-new Tucson. The company has released photos of the European-spec Tucson ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The look follows the styling of the new Santa Fe, looking decidedly more upscale than the outgoing model.

The exterior uses the large new Hyundai hexagonal grille, flanked by LED headlamps. The front bumper incorporates a wing-shaped design with integrated LED daytime running lights. The A pillar has been moved back to accentuate the long hood and give it a sleeker profile. Hyundai’s styling is now under ex-Audi and VW designer Peter Schreyer, who also heads Kia’s design studio.

Features include powered tailgate, parallel parking and bay parking assist, autonomous emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert, and blind spot detection.

Engine choices in Europe include two gasoline engines: a turbo (176ps) and non-turbo (135ps) 1.6-liter. Diesels will be a 1.7-liter (115ps), 2.0-liter standard (136ps) and 2.0-liter high power (184ps). Transmission choices will be six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Expect the all-new Tucson to be launched globally this year.
