Globe holds Slipstream 2.0 with Lotus and Marlon Stockinger at BGC June 27

Filipino-Swiss Marlon Stockinger, current GP2 driver, will once again be behind the wheel of his race car for some demo runs at the Bonifacio Global City this Saturday. GP2 is a feeder series for drivers planning to enter Formula One.

 

Globe, the principal sponsor for Slipstream 2.0, which is now fast becoming an annual event, has been supporting the young Stockinger in his quest to become the Philippines’ first ever F1 driver.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAt the recent press conference held at the Ascott Bonifacio Global City, Dan Horan, Senior Advisor Consumer Business group of Globe mentioned that Marlon is on the cusp of being a Filipino Icon, just like Lea Salonga, and Manny Pacquiao. Since Formula 1 is typically reserved for the elite, Globe sees Slipstream 2.0 as the introduction for Filipinos to the sport, Dan Horan further encourages everyone to start to get behind Marlon and help him in his journey to be an F1 driver.

 

“We want every Filipino to see and experience the excitement that millions of fans around the world associate with this sport. Aside from that, this is a way for us to really express how we support and empower the Filipino dream,” Horan said.

 

Globe Telecom, the purveyor of the digital lifestyle has also launched their new Viber Stickers #BilisngPinoy featuring Marlon Stockinger.

 

Activities for Globe Slipstream 2.0 features a pre-launch display of Lotus sports cars, demo runs of The Ducati Club, the Manila Sports Car Club, DTM PH and the highlight of the whole event, the run of World Series Renault car of Marlon Stockinger. Attendees can also head to the High Street for a car show, exhibits,interactive booths of the different Globe brands and motorcycle stunts. If you are a gamer, you can try out your skills at The Nissan GT Academy booth. The event runs from 12 noon till 5PM on the 27th of June.
