Ford launches new Explorer EcoBoost with turbo engine

Ford has announced the arrival of the new Ford Explorer EcoBoost, with a 274 ps 2.3-liter turbocharged engine. Here’s the news from Ford: The new Ford Explorer arrives in the Philippines with more smart and safety technologies,powered by the ground-breaking EcoBoost engine technology. Sporting a new look, both inside and out, the new Ford Explorer delivers the ideal combination of form and function that has redefined yet again the sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment. The new Explorer is the latest member to join Ford Philippines’ vast SUV lineup. Last November, Ford unveiled the new 3.5-liter Explorer Sport.

Comfortable and capable, new look

The new Explorer has been redesigned to offer a more comfortable driving experience that complements its new rugged and dominant stance. Customers will appreciate the independent front and rear suspension and its unique steering gear for a more dynamic driving experience, all while sitting high on 20-inch Premium Painted Aluminum Wheels offering an improved ride and handling. Interior changes include new door seals, an enhanced sound package with engine subframe mounts specially tuned to reduce vibration.

Outside, the new Explorer exudes ruggedness with its robust design. The heightened grille and LED headlamps paired with a new closed-off lower roof rack and a new rear spoiler help to improve aerodynamics.

• Front 180 Degree Camera with Washer: A first in its segment and exclusive to its class, the new Explorerhas wide-angled front camera lenses now with a built-in washer, eliminating the hassles of blurry screens when parking.

• Front Park Assist technology is also present in the new Explorer to help drivers during stressful parking situations. With this, drivers can easily park the new Explorerwith more ease and confidence with sensors to warn the driver of oncoming vehicles.

• Smart-Charging USB ports: Located at the front and rear sides of the vehicle, the new Explorer offers two (2) USB ports designed to charge smart devices up to two times faster than conventional ports — an ideal for those on-the-go.

• Hands-Free Liftgate: A convenient feature that allows customers with pre-occupied hands to easily open or close the new Explorer’s liftgate with a kicking motion below the center of the rear bumper.

• Paddle Shifters: Now cleverly located on the steering wheel for that fun-to-drive experience.

The new Explorer is powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged limited EcoBoostengine delivering 274 PS at 5,500 rpm and 408 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm, mated with a 6-Speed SelectShift Automatic™ transmission for a smoother driving experience.
