Here are the variants of the all-new CR-V

August 07,2017

The all-new Honda CR-V will take its bow on August 8 at the official Philippine launch. The fifth-generation CR-V seeks to widen its appeal from the current large-crossover format, to those seeking family transport alternative to an MPV. The biggest additions are the available third row, increasing passenger capacity to seven, and the diesel engine. Those who presumably don’t like the difficult ingress-egress and rough ride of pick-up based SUVs may find something to like in the all-new CR-V.

The new CR-V will be 4571mm long x 1855 mm wide. Ground clearance is 208mm for the SX Diesel, 198mm for the other variants. As a result, height is 1667mm for the top SX diesel, with the others 10mm lower.

In any case, the new SUV will have several variants to cater to a wide audience:

2.0S CVT

The base model will use the 2.0-liter iVTEC gasoline engine, good for 154ps and 189Nm. The engine will be mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission. It will be front-wheel drive.

-5 seats (no third row). Second row can split 60:40

-Full LED headlights

-18-inch alloy wheels

– 7-inch touch screen audio system with Bluetooth, navigation, trip computer, Wifi capability, HDMI mirroring

-Side and side curtain airbags

-Lane watch camera

Seven seats in three rows

From there, it’s diesel power, coupled with the new 9-speed automatic transmission.

The diesel engine produces 120ps and 300Nm. The gearshift is done via buttons on the center instrument panel.

The diesel variants will have the third row of seats, which folds and reclines 50:50. The second row can slide and recline, in a 60:40 split.
