Will Ram’s latest limited edition pickup have the competition feeling blue?

Ram is bidding farewell to 2017 with a final very special edition of its most popular pickup, the Ram 1500 Hydro Blue.
The Ram 1500 Hydro Blue Sport will be the fourth and final limited edition model the company has planned for the calendar year.
It is destined to stand out among both its standard specification and limited edition peers thanks in part to its unique external hydro blue paint finish but the outside also boasts a lot of subtle details, such as a new sports grille, complete with black billet inserts and black RAM badging; none of which will be available on any other Ram truck until next year as either standard or optional equipment.
The truck also gets a menacing performance hood complete with dual air intakes and black decals under which can be found a 5.7-liter HEMI V8, and even the headlamps have been given a black tint to complete the aggressive stance.
Two-wheel-drive variants will get forged 22-inch aluminum wheels as standard, while all-wheel-drive models will stand on polished 20-inch wheels.
Inside, the black and blue color scheme continues, with blue contrast stitching on the instrument panel steering wheel and door trim. The seats are of the high-back bucket variety and they’re finished in black with mesh accents and blue RAM embroidery on the headrests. However, if owners want the seats trimmed in black leather it’s a cost option, as are side steps, active level air suspension and Ram’s park assistance feature.
“Enthusiasts demand that their trucks get noticed,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep & Ram Brands. “The custom look and high-impact colors have been well received in the marketplace and this new Ram 1500 Hydro Blue Sport will surely stand out on dealers’ lots and in customers’ driveways.”
The Truck will go on sale towards the end of November 2017 and prices will start from $46,060 (over P2.3 million), excluding destination charges. United States production will be capped to just 2000 examples to ensure that it stands out from the 500,000 trucks RAM easily sells in the U.S. every year. JB
