Toyota announces full restoration of Santa Rosa production, opens anniversary event at NBC Tent
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is celebrating its 23rd anniversary with a Tent Event at the NBC Tent in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The event will be held until August 23.
TMP President Michinobu Sugata, in his opening remarks, announced that Toyota’s assembly operations in its Santa Rosa plant, have been restored to their normal two shifts starting June 6. Improved availability of CBU units have also bolstered Toyota’s sales. TMP has reclaimed its sales lead in July, after losing out to Mitsubishi in June. Mr. Sugata noted that they have yet to retake the lead in the commercial vehicle category.
“The remarkable results for the month of July have proven the quickest recovery in our production together with the full support of our strong dealerships nationwide. We have reclaimed the No.1 position across all vehicle categories for a single month of July. Our sales registered 4,374 units and a market share of 37.4%, a growth of 24% from the month of June which only registered 3,506 units. As of now, however, we still have lost one title to be taken back to us. That is the No. 1 in Commercial vehicle category for the whole year of 2011. We still have one opponent to be caught up with.”
