Hyundai and Skip Barber have added two high-performance rear-drive sport coupes to their increasingly popular High Performance Driving School programs. Starting this month, Skip Barber driving school participants at Lime Rock, Road Atlanta, and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, U.S.A., will have the opportunity to drive both Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec and 3.8 Track models as part of their instruction on these famed road courses.
“We’re thrilled to give more driving enthusiasts the opportunity to pilot our Genesis Coupe high-performance rear-drive models in an exciting-yet-controlled learning environment with the respected Skip Barber program,” said Steve Shannon, vice president, marketing, Hyundai Motor America. “Our exciting 348-horsepower Genesis Coupe R-Spec and Track models can now be experienced to their full potential on world-renowned racing circuits like Lime Rock, Laguna Seca and Road Atlanta. The proven durability of the Genesis Coupe in such a rigorous daily instruction environment is also sure to impress Skip Barber Racing School students and instructors alike, all while making students better drivers.”
The high performance Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec and Track models have already bolstered their performance credentials in the fiercely competitive rear-drive sport coupe segment. The Genesis Coupe joins a variety of well-respected high performance cars such as the Porsche 911 Carrera, Mazdaspeed3 and Lexus IS-F used for instruction at the Skip Barber Racing School program. “All of us at Skip Barber Racing School are honored to be partnering with Hyundai on our High Performance Driving School”, said Michael Culver, CEO of Skip Barber Racing School. “The Genesis Coupe is sure to capture the enthusiasm of our passionate customers.”
