Nine new vehicles at ninth MIAS: April 4 to 7 at World Trade Center

Manila International Auto Show opens its ninth edition on April 4 to 7, 2013 at the World Trade Center and Philippine Trade Center. This year promises to be its biggest showing yet, with more than 300 cars on display, ranging from the latest subcompact hatchbacks to the toughest pickups and fastest sports cars.

In the 2013 MIAS, Ford will unveil its all-new Ranger Wildtrak pickup. Ranger Wildtrak comes with a choice of two state-of-the-art common-rail Ford Duratorq TDCi diesels and class-exclusive six-speed transmissions that serve up even more power at up to 200ps and torque of up to 470Nm. Ranger Wildtrak features exceptional towing capability of up to 3,000 kg and increased payload capacity. With a ground clearance of 223 mm, Ranger’s water-wading capability of up to 800 mm is best-in-class.

Mazda will highlight their Skyactiv technology in the all-new Mazda6 executive sedan. The car combines the styling and performance of a sporty vehicle with the comfort and luxury of a high-end sedan.

Subaru will launch the new Forester, now with fuel-saving turbocharged engine technology and a new all-wheel drive system. Russ Swift returns for a thrilling exhibition of precision driving behind the wheel of the new Subaru BRZ.

Jeep will introduce the new Wrangler Moab. The Moab Edition is for off-road zealots who want a turnkey rig that can tame the famed trails of Moab, Utah and beyond. Its amped-up capability and concentrated dose of creature comforts are a winning combination. Meanwhile, iconic motorcycle brand Harley Davidson makes its debut also under CATS Motors. Their premium motorcycles feature a bold, modern attitude.

Mini will unveil its latest addition to the family. The Paceman sports activity coupe combines the style and driving performance of the Mini Cooper with the larger space and comfort of a premium SUV.

Kia will feature a preview of the all-new Carens MPV. Just unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the Carens takes the MPV to a whole new level of styling and comfort.

Peugeot will highlight their diesel technology behind their range of vehicles like the 3008 and 5008 crossovers. They will also show off the facelifted version of their two-seat RCZ sports car.

Chery Motors will show off their new Fulwin hatchback, as well as the E5 sedan and Q22L van.

Other exhibitors will also have special displays. Mitsubishi Motors will show off their lineup including the award-winning Mirage hatchback as they celebrate their 50th year in the Philippines. Tuason Racing will launch the Tuason Racing driver experience featuring cars powered by BMW M.

In 2012, MIAS welcomed more than 88,000 visitors. MIAS exhibition space is comprised of the World Trade exhibition hall and lobby of 10,000m2 and the 4,000m2 air conditioned (east wing tent) annex building and some 6,000m2 of outdoor exhibit, test drive and stunt performance area. With 4,000m2 of indoor exhibition floor space at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) building, plus another 3,000m2 of air conditioned tent connecting the PTTC and WTC east wing tent hall, MIAS is still the country’s biggest annual motoring event. Visitors can avail of special deals on cars and accessories and great financing deals through BPI Autoloans, the official auto loan partner of the MIAS.

Show highlights which will include the Petron-MIAS Classic and Custom Car Competition; a photo contest and exhibit; and other celebrity driver appearances.
MIAS will be hosting the “Car of the Year Awards” gala evening on April 4th, in cooperation with Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI). The Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) will hold “Driver of the Year” awards night on April 5th at the same venue.
