Nissan Philippines to launch Almera sedan

Nissan Motor Philippines Inc. is set to elbow its way into the B-segment sedan market with the Almera. Launched in Beijing as a replacement for the Sentra in some markets, the Almera does boast of the longest wheelbase and a large interior for its class. Almera will be powered by a 1.5-liter inline-four gasoline engine. Higher variants will include features like a rear aircon blower, a first for the class.

Here’s news from Nissan: The all-new Nissan Almera 1.5L will soon make its way to the local roads as Nissan Motor Philippines, Inc. (NMPI)’s entry in the thriving [sub]compact sedan category.

Launched successfully in various countries including Thailand, U.S., China, India, Singapore and more recently, Malaysia, the Almera has become branded as Nissan’s global best-selling sedan, with sales reaching to more than 500,000 units to date. Built with a reputation of an “affordable dynamic sedan,” the all-new Almera boasts of class-leading comfort and space, upscale design together with great functionality, yet comes at an affordable price that is competitive in the sedan segment.

The all-new Almera – which comes in a newly developed and fuel-efficient 1.5-liter engine – is considered to be the biggest and most spacious in its class, measuring 4,425 mm long, 1,695 mm wide and 1,505 mm tall, while wheelbase is a among the longest at 2,600 mm.

Truly redefining the compact sedan category, the all-new Almera boasts of exceptionally more interior space than its competitors. It offers generous leg room and trunk space that are comparable even to vehicles in the C-segment or those with 2.0L engines and above, at a B-segment price. Apart from enjoying an abundance of legroom, the Almera also provides a tall roofline that equates to superb headroom.
