Tata Motors unveils Tuff Truck concept in Australia

By Jason K. Ang September 02,2013

Tata Motors is India’s largest automobile manufacturer, with cars, trucks, buses and light commercial vehicles in its extensive lineup. The company recently revealed the Tuff Truck concept at the National 4×4 & Outdoors Show in Melbourne, Australia. The concept unveiling coincided with the brand’s launch Down Under.

The Tuff Truck is based on the Tata Xenon, the company’s workhorse pickup truck. The Xenon was outfitted with a more aggressive front bumper, 20-inch alloy wheels with offroad tires, LED daytime running lights, body kit, snorkel, and sports bar with lights. The concept was designed by Fusion Automotive, Tata’s newly-appointed Australian distributor, and Tata Motors.

Tuff Truck shares the Xenon’s 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine with 148hp and 320Nm of torque. Power goes through a five-speed manual gearbox to all four wheels.
