F1 movie Rush offers chance to go to Abu Dhabi GP

By William Herrera September 20,2013

Set during the 1970’s golden age of Formula 1 racing, Rush is the true story of two racing rivals, British Playboy James Hunt, nicknamed “Hunt the Shunt” and the perfectionist, Austrian Niki “The Rat” Lauda.

The Ron Howard film follows the lives of both men as they raced in the junior formula and eventually in Formula 1. Both Lauda and Hunt strove to be the best driver on the grid, pushing each other to the near breaking point of their physical and mental endurance. Culminating in the final race in Japan, where the champion was crowned by the slimmest of margins: one single point.

This is by far one of the best, if not the best racing/motoring film I have ever seen. ‘Rush’  captures the true essence of racing back in the day when Formula One was a potentially deadly sport. It is unlike some movie franchises where the hero goes racing, crashes his car, blows everything up, and at the end of it, all walks away with only a razor cut on his cheek. This movie shows everything as it once was, when driving was extremely dangerous and one single mistake can cost you your life.

Rush will be shown locally starting September 18 to October 2, 2013.

Captive cinema, the films distributor has tied up with Etihad Airways for a promotional campaign: one lucky movie goer will be chosen to fly to Abu Dhabi on board Etihad Airways to attend the 2013 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The winner will be provided with airfare, hotel accommodations, Grand Prix Tickets, plus a day trip to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi this coming November. All you need to do to get a chance to win this fantastic prize is watch the movie Rush and get your raffle coupon at the counter, fill it up and drop it at designated drop boxes at the theater.
