Electrics Attack, Part 3: Fisker Karma Hybrid

September 18,2010

Aside from Germany, California is a hotbed of electric car development. Based in the Golden State, Fisker Automotive is launching its Karma plug-in hybrid at the Paris Motor Show.

The Karma is a four-door, four-seat vehicle that aims to combine “exotic car styling with advanced powertrain technology that delivers better efficiency and lower emissions than today’s best hybrids.” The 403-bhp exotic hybrid goes from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, on to a 200 km/h top speed. Despite that, fuel efficiency is nearly 42 km/liter.

Henrik Fisker was a consultant at rival Tesla Cars and is reportedly the designer of the Tesla roadster. He has designed such beauties as the Aston Martin V8 Vantage and DB9, and the BMW Z8.
The company will also launch its “Pure Driving Passion” marketing campaign at Paris.
