In a report published by Autoblog, it said that the all-new global Ford Ranger will grow in size. According to Ford Vice-President of Global Product Development, Mr. Derrick Kuzak, the new Ranger will be around 90th percentile of the current North American F-150 pick-up truck.
Being too similar in size, a dwindling compact pick-up market and more fuel-efficient powertrains in the F-150 segment has prompted Ford to halt Ranger sales in the United States by 2011. This will be the first time that Ford won’t have a compact pick-up in that market in nearly 30 years.
North America’s demise is to our advantage though as the all-new Ranger (which will be unveiled at the Australian International Motor Show next month) is developed as a true global product. The grille shot above is a teaser from Ford before the upcoming launch.
The all-new Ford Ranger will bow into the ASEAN market by mid-2011 and hopefully, the Philippines shortly thereafter.
