Porsche adds another model to its innumerable special editions: this one is called the 911 Speedster, in commemoration of the 1953 classic, the 356 Speedster. The 911 Speedster features a lowered and raked windscreen and a double-bubble hardcover for the soft top. Otherwise, it’s based on a Carrera 4 body, with its wider rear stance (although the Speedster is rear-wheel drive.
The 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivers 408 bhp, up 23 bhp from the Carrera S. The engine is paired with the seven-speed PDK twin-clutch. Active suspension management and ceramic brakes are standard.
The car was conceived by Porsche Exclusive, which customizes new cars and builds low-volume special editions. The Speedster is available in “Pure Blue” exclusive color, or a no-cost option, “Carrera White.” UK price is £144,100 (about P9.9 million). Production of the car is limited to 356 units.
