MANILA, Philippines – Another bomb scare caused traffic in a portion of EDSA after passengers suspected that there was bomb inside a bag left inside a bus Friday afternoon, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.

Charlie Nozares of MMDA-Metrobase said the bag was left inside a Kellen bus with license plate UVH 677 that was plying along the northbound lane of EDSA-Ortigas when it was found around 12:44 p.m.

The bomb squad that responded checked the bag and found that it contained personal belongings.

Even after authorities declared it negative of explosives, Nozares said traffic remained heavy in the area. Making the situation worse was the reported collision between two passenger busses before Robinson’s Galleria.

On Wednesday, motorists traveling along EDSA were stuck in a nearly four-hour traffic gridlock after both lanes of EDSA along F.B. Harrisson were closed down due to a bomb scare after a bag was thrown on the roof of a Bataan Bus. The bag was later declared negative of explosives.
