The 8TH Usapan AAP on Wednesday focuses on the quality and prices of fuel in the Philippines following Volkswagen AG’s announcement last month that it is selling only diesel vehicles here due to concerns about the manganese additive used by some oil companies in their unleaded gasoline.
Usapan AAP is a regular forum organized by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) during which government officials and private sector leaders involved in road safety and the automotive industry meet over lunch with the news media to discuss current issues, with journalist Cito Beltran as moderator.
The 8th Usapan AAP will be held in the lobby of AAP’s office at 28 Edsa (beside Ford Edsa), Greenhills, San Juan, with registration starting at 11 a.m.
The panelists who have confirmed their participation are Department of Energy-Oil Industry Standards and Monitoring Division chief Alvin David Lim, Department of Environment and Natural Resources antismoke belching coordinator Jerry Capulong, Independent Philippine Petroleum Companies Association chair Fernando Martinez and Chevron Philippines Policy Government and Public Affairs manager Raissa Bautista. Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. communications vice president Roberto Kanapi has not yet confirmed or named any representative while Petron is sending two observers who are not authorized to answer questions.
