MANILA, Philippines — A man was badly injured while another sustained minor injuries when the motorcycles they were riding collided along the northbound portion of South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) on Sunday.
The accident, which happened at around 11:30 a.m. near the Sta. Rosa exit of SLEX, has caused a bottleneck of Metro Manila-bound vehicles.
Residents in the area who witnessed the accident said the sports bike rear-ended the other motorcycle.
“I saw one of the speeding motorcycles hit the other on its rear. The riders were both thrown off to the ground as their motorcycles skidded,” said a resident who only identified himself as Jun. The sports bike rider was badly injured.
The victim, who was wearing protective gears, was not moving as his fellow riders approached him.
The other rider sustained minor injuries on his left hand.
As of noon time, emergency medical personnel arrived in the area to check on the injured riders.
