Mazda Philippines’ third-quarter sales performance, under the stewardship of Berjaya Auto Philippines Inc. (BAP) is “zooming” ahead. Mazda’s sales performance in the third quarter grew by 64 percent compared to the same period last year. Year-to-date September sales result is 41 percent better than last year’s, with improvement coming from across the vehicle portfolio, particularly Mazda2 subcompact sedan and hatchback, Mazda3 compact sedan and hatchback, newly launched Mazda6 executive sedan, CX5 compact crossover and BT50 pickup.
“Sales of our Mazda products equipped with SkyActiv fuel-efficient engines are gathering momentum. With more and more customers appreciating the fuel-saving benefits that Mazda SkyActiv technology provides, they also find that performance is never compromised” said Steven Tan, CEO and president of Mazda Philippines.
“Our dealer partners have done a tremendous job of strengthening their sales team and aftersales service operation since the Berjaya Group assumed Mazda distribution early this year,” he added.
Under BAP, all new Mazda vehicles sold since January this year will receive a three-year free preventive maintenance service, including lubricants and parts under the maintenance schedule. On top of that, the customer is also set to receive a 3-year free emergency roadside assistance, as well as the 3-year warranty. The free offer—called Mazda Yojin3 Total Care Package—is offered on all new Mazda vehicles.
“So far this year, new dealerships in Metro Manila’s C5, in Tarlac, Cavite and Cabanatuan and in Iloilo have opened. Later this year, Mazda Davao will open its doors. “Next year, we will see about four new dealerships opening across the country,” Tan said.
BAP is the exclusive distributor of Mazda vehicles and parts in the Philippines. Mazda’s current product lineup includes the Mazda2 subcompact sedan and hatchback, Mazda3 compact sedan and hatchback, Mazda6 executive sedan, CX-5 compact SUV, CX-9 seven-seater SUV, MX-5 two-seater sports roadster and the BT-50 pickup truck.
