Volkswagen Philippines announced Cherub Nikolai Bedano as the lucky winner of a 21st century 1.2 TSI Beetle, culminating the People’s Car Celebration held at the Greenbelt Park recently.
The raffle draw highlighted Europe’s biggest automaker’s much-awaited return in Manila.
Cherub, a 7-year old boy from Marikina, was with his family when he toured through Volkwagen’s two-day public display in Greenbelt Park, Makati.
“We think that a young 7-year old winning the 21st century Volkswagen Beetle is very symbolic. The boy certainly represents aspiration and optimism,” says JP S. Orbeta, President of Automobile Central Enterprise, Inc. (ACEI), the official importer of Volkswagen passenger cars in the country.
Cherub was one of the several thousands of participants who registered through www.timeforvolkswagen.com from September 28-29. Each participant had to journey through the seven exhibit areas of the Volkswagen People’s Car Celebration to find the clues to the trivia questions.
Cherub and his mother will receive the all-new Beetle next year. For the meantime, a symbolic awarding of a Beetle diecast car replica was recently held at the newly opened Volkswagen Showroom.
For more information or to test drive a car, visit Volkswagen BGC at 28th street, City Center, Bonifacio Global City. Showroom hours are from Monday to Thursday 8am to 6pm, Friday and Saturday 8am to 7pm, and Sunday 9am to 6pm.
