12 images: Tokyo Motor Show is a feast for auto-loving eyes

The biennial Tokyo Motor Show is a glorious showcase of new and upcoming automobiles from the land of the Rising Sun. Here are some of the more interesting vehicles from the show floor.
- BMW’s booth was one of the heavily visited ones as it displayed the futuristic i8, perhaps it will land in a Mission Impossible sequel sometime in the near future.
- A highlight of the Honda exhibit was the NSX Concept car, which Honda says it will be in production by 2015.
- Honda celebrates 50 years of automotive manufacturing On display in the Honda booth is this 1964 Honda RA271 Formula car with an aluminum monocoque body and 1.5 liter V12 engine. Alongside it is Honda’s first mass-produced automobile, the Sport 360.
- The coupe version of the F-Type was launched in the show
- Mazda showcased the new Axela model, known in the Philippine market as the Mazda3
- Mercedes-Benz featured the Japan premiere of the sexy S-Class Coupe Concept
- MINI unveiled its new generation MINI Cooper
- As Nissan celebrates 80 years of mobility, this latest GTR variant is also the world’s most powerful four-seater car
- Porsche unveiled the Macan in Tokyo Motor Show just a few minutes after its world premiere at the LA Auto Show halfway across the globe
- Subaru’s Levorg was the highlight of its exhibit, as Inquirer Motoring columnist Botchi Santos pointed out that it looked like the next generation Legacy model
- The open top X-Lander Concept car shows the future design potential of the popular and diminutive Jimny model
- Aside from its alternative energy vehicles, one of the interesting road-going cars unveiled by Toyota was the soft top version of the 86
