MANILA, Philippines—The image of the Black Nazarene was transferred to Quirino Grandstand on Monday evening ahead of the annual procession on Thursday.
The procession from Quirino Grandstand to the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila will no longer cross the MacArthur Bridge as observed in previous years but will instead pass through the Jones Bridges.
The religious rite will start with a mass at 6 a.m. at the Quirino Grandstand celebrated by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle.
After the mass, the procession will start at the Quirino Grandstand, then left to Katigbak Drive through Padre Burgos Street, left to Taft Avenue, and then to Jones Bridge instead of MacArthur Bridge.
It will then turn right to Escolta, then turn right along Palanca Street which is below Quezon bridge, then left to Quezon Boulevard.
It will now pass through the narrow roads of Quaipo starting turning right to Arlegui Street, right to Fraternal Street, right to Vergara Street, and left to Duque de Alba Street.
From there, it will turn left to Castillejos Street, left to Farnecio Street, and right to Arlegui Street.
Then it will turn left to Nepomuceno Street, left to Aguila Street, right to Carcer Street, right to Hidalgo Street towards Plaza del Carmen, turn left to Bilibid Viejo through Puyat Street, left to Guzman Street, right to Hidalgo Street, then left to Barbosa Street, right to Globo de Oro Street through under Quezon bridge, then right to Palanca Street, right to Villalobos Street, and then back to Plaza Miranda.
