OZAMIZ CITY, Philippines – Transportation between the northern and western regions of Mindanao is paralyzed as a bridge along the highway in Lanao del Norte gave way to flashfloods Monday evening, the authorities said.

Hundreds of vehicles and cargo trucks have been stranded in Linamon and Kauswagan towns since Monday night. The bridge spans the Larapan River, between Barangay (village) Lapayan in Linamon and Barangay Libertad in Kauswagan.
