Volkswagen Philippines rolled out its sedan models for a quick demo run around the block, revealing also the cars’ specifications and pricing. They are the Jetta 2.0 TDI M/T Trendline and the Polo Notch 1.6 TDI M/T. The Jetta 1.2 TSI M/T is scheduled to be available by February.
Both cars are powered by turbocharged common-rail diesel engines. The Jetta’s 2.0 inline-four producing 110ps and 280Nm, while the Polo Notch 1.6 liter unite produces 105ps and 250Nm. As with most turbodiesels, the satisfaction is in the ample torque delivery at low rpm, peaking from just above idle at 1500 rpm (1750 rpm for the Jetta). We hope you like rowing through the gears, as these are available for now only in manual transmission.
The Jetta is equipped with cloth seats with manual adjustment, multi function display, leather steering wheel, matte chrome trim, manual airconditioning, 205/55 R 16 on alloy wheels, halogen headlamps, front and rear foglamps, six airbags and ABS.
The Polo carries fabric seats, tilt-telescope wheel, manual aircon, 185/60 R 15 on alloy wheels, dual airbags and ABS.
