Chevrolet Philippines to launch Tahoe full-size SUV
Following Chevrolet Philippines’ phenomenal sales performance in 2013, and the success of the Trailblazer SUV, the company is set to bring in the big gun in its arsenal: the full-size Tahoe SUV.
Chevrolet USA says that the new Tahoe, a sister model to the Suburban, will feature a quieter ride, more efficient direct-injection engine and improved aerodynamics.
Tahoe will feature fold-flat second and third-row seats with available power folding, 50mm greater legroom for second-row passengers, available 8-inch color screen, up to six USB ports and six power outlets, conversation mirror, available Blu-ray player, and keyless entry with push-button start. Center console will be large enough to store an iPad or laptop.
The Tahoe will have available radar-based forward collision alert, park assist, rear cross traffic alert and adaptive cruise control. The SUV is built body-on-frame, with a fully boxed perimeter frame for greater towing capacity.
Engine is a 5.3-liter V8 with direct injection and cylinder deactivation. A six-speed automatic will be standard.
Chevrolet Philippines expects to launch the Tahoe this year.
Update: Chevrolet Philippines (The Covenant Car Company Inc.) marketing director Lyn Buena stated that they are strongly considering bringing in the new Tahoe, but there are no definite launch plans as yet. Meanwhile, Chevrolet is still offering the current model Tahoe and Suburban.
