Last week, a young twenty-something single mom lost her leg after a taxi rammed into a jeepney while she was boarding along Commonwealth Ave. The driver had allegedly fallen asleep. Aside from losing her leg, she had to leave her job. She is in need of a hydraulic pneumatic prosthesis so she can function as normally as possible. Presently, she is on therapy using a simple prosthesis. The young lady is the mother of a 4-year old girl named Camille.

Bonnevie Cattery Foundation together with motoring journalist James Deakin is auctioning a rare and champion Philippine Champion Blue Pedigreed Scottish Fold FE (Folded Ears) cat whose owner bought him in Uzbekistan for 250,000 pesos. He became one of Bonnevie Cattery‘s foundation breeders and has produced top quality Scottish Folds and Shorthairs that now populate the homes of happy families in the Philippines.

His is fondly nicknamed Rizal.

According to the people in Bonnevie Cattery, he has an excellent and loving temperament and is now enjoying his happy life at Bonnevie Cattery after a successful stint at the show ring.

With about two more decades of his prime nine lives, his owner is offering him up for adoption for a starting bid of less than 10% of his cost to help Camille get back on her feet.

Camille is a daughter of a friend of Deakin who lost her leg in a very unfortunate accident and Rizal’s owner heard about the story so he decided to look for a a new family that he can spend the rest of his lives with, and someone who will take good care of him under a guardianship contract.

Starting bid this morning was 20,000 pesos. Current highest bid is 37,000 pesos. Hopefully the amount can be much higher as it will go to a worthy cause.

The Facebook post went viral and hopefully the readers of Inquirer Motioncars can pick up on this and share the link as well.

Rizal’s credentials include winning Best in Show and Best in Breed in the 16th FFPI Cat Show. He is now 5 years old and is neutered. His daily diet is Royal Canin Indoor 32 and his vitamins include the Nutri Plus Gel. He has complete vaccinations that include 4 Cat, Anti-Rabies, Frontline.

His life expectancy is estimated to be about 18 more wonderful years with a loving and generous family to take care of him.

The auction ends on February 2nd, Sunday at 12 noon
