Four vehicles were stolen over the weekend in Quezon City. The cars were parked right outside the owner’s homes. One of the cars was stolen by a driver who had been terminated and apparently wanted to get back at his previous employer.
The vehicles were stolen at various times: a white 1993 Honda Civic (XKZ-300), a silver Mitsubishi Strada (TXQ-359), a white 2013 Nissan Urvan (conduction sticker LE-4251) and a black 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer (XFH-382).
The cars were stolen while they were locked and parked outside of the owner’s homes on Satruday and Sunday. Only one suspect was identified, the fired driver. The suspect is Ronald Nunag of Sauyo, Novaliches, tagged by the car’s owner as the one who took off with the Mitsubishi Lancer at the house on Aramismis Street, Barangay Veterans Village at around 8 am Sunday.
The owner, Arturo Cruz, 50, said the suspect was his personal driver for three weeks. He suspected Nunag of stealing items from the boss’ home and terminated his services. After being fired, the driver was still seen lurking in the neighborhood. On Sunday morning, the victim’s relatives saw Nunag outside the house, ringing the bell at the gate. The witnesses went up to the second floor out of fear, while the suspect entered the yard and broke into the house.
Aside from the Lancer, Nunag reportedly stole a 32-inch television, a Swiss backpack worth P10,000, and a Nikon DSLR camera worth P32,000.
Earlier on Sunday at around 5:40 a.m., Carmelito delos Reyes’ Nissan Urvan was stolen while parked outside his house on Union Civica Street, Barangay Sto. Niño. The victim said he was sleeping in his living room when he was jolted awake by an engine gunning to life. He peeped to see a man driving his van away.
On Saturday at around 4 a.m., Marc Apostol, 25, lost his Civic parked in front of his house on Dr. Lascano Street, Barangay Sacred Heart. The victim said he had parked his car and went inside his house for 30 minutes to find his car gone.
At around the same time, Jonasser Bersamina, 32, parked his Strada outside his house Mariveles Street in Sta. Mesa Heights, Barangay San Isidro. Two hours later, Bersamina went out to find his Strada no longer there.
