Audi teases the TT ahead of Geneva debut

By Jason K. Ang February 21,2014

Audi has shown sketches of the all-new TT coupe set to debut at the Geneva auto show in March. The car will feature the signature company “Singleframe” grille, a contoured hood and central four-rings logo, emulating the flagship sports car R8.

The design will hark back more to the first-generation’s geometrically-inclined design. That extremely rounded design was indeed a landmark in automotive styling, but led to certain problems such as in aerodynamics. The car’s rear end tended to lift at speed, prompting Audi to add a rear spoiler. Those problems will probably be eliminated in this new version. LED lighting will be available, as will its Matrix LED with individually-controlled LED elements.

Audi promises an interior that will be light enough that it will seem to float. A wing-like dashboard will be the main design element. The round airvents will incorporate the airconditioning controls, giving way to a thinner dashboard.
