A gathering of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) is expected to cause heavy traffic on Friday. The bible exposition and outreach program will take place along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.
Motorists have been advised to take alternate routes, as Commonwealth Avenue connecting Sandiganbayan to Litex Road will be closed to vehicular traffic starting 12 a.m. Friday.
The early closure will be to give way for the construction of the stage and placement of chairs for the event. The INC event will start from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., according to the Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS).
The QC CPOS advised motorists going to Fairview to turn right at the IBP Road and exit at the corner of Commonwealth and LItex Road. “The counterflow lane for vehicles going to Fairview lane shall start at 6 a.m. from the U-turn slot fronting Meralco and exit at the U-turn slot fronting Don Fabian Street,” it added.
“Vehicles going to Quezon City Memorial Circle will take the outermost four lanes of Commonwealth from Don Fabian to the U-turn slot fronting Meralco.”
The QC local government also said it will deploy 300 traffic enforcers for the duration of the scheduled traffic rerouting.
The enforcers will embed 200 plastic jersey barriers and traffic cones to serve as guide for motorists.
