Are you planning on getting a four-wheel-drive vehicle or do you own one already but have never taken it off road? If so this may be just the event you are looking for.
Designed as an introduction to taking you onto a range of challenging terrain, the Isuzu D-Max 4×4 Drive Series will definitely make you a better—if not a lot braver—driver the next time you need to drive through muck, sandy or boulder-strewn roads.
For the first leg of the series, Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) goes to Pampanga on April 25 to 27 at the Eastgate Center, Brgy. San Jose, San Fernando, Pampanga (at the back of Robinsons Starmills). Featuring the newly launched all-new Isuzu D-Max 4×4, activities will start at 10 a.m. and will last until 6 p.m. (except on the opening day when the first hour will be reserved for invited guests).
Admission to the off-road driving challenge is free, IPC said.
Appealing
“There is no doubt to the appeal that off-road driving holds over Filipino consumers, as can be seen on the consistent rise of the four-wheel drive pickup segment in the local market,” IPC president Nobuo Izumina noted. “Over the years, the performance of the Isuzu D-Max 4×4 contributed to this popularity, and the all-new version of the pickup model will certainly push the growth to new heights. I invite one and all to experience the D-Max 4×4’s known strengths of durability and unparalleled prowess over tough terrain in the 2014 Isuzu D-Max 4×4 Drive Series.”
Now on its third year, the D-Max 4×4 Drive Series started with just three locations. In 2010 the number of locations was increased to four. This year IPC decided to hold the event in five locations as the market for 4×4 pickup trucks increased.
“Holding this event in five venues, clearly illustrates the continuous growth of the four-wheel drive pickup sector in the Philippines, as well as the rapidly increasing popularity of outdoor recreational activities among Filipinos,” Izumina said.
Opening leg
The series-opening leg in Pampanga will tackle a track that features numerous slopes and hills to climb up and descend from in order to demonstrate the D-Max’s power and traction.
Other obstacles and trails will also highlight the capability of the pickup’s Limited Slip Differential and the suspension system’s articulation over varying surfaces, heights and angles.
After the Pampanga leg, the 2014 Isuzu D-Max 4×4 Drive Series will move to Mandaue, Cebu (May 9 to 11); Bacolod City (May 23 to 25); Cagayan de Oro City (June 6 to 8); and finally in Lanang, Davao City (June 20 to 22). IPC informed that for additional details, they will be publishing flyers and posters, or interested parties may log on to www.isuzuphil.com.
