Motorists would do well to avoid sections of EDSA this weekend, as the reblocking of Metro Manila’s major artery resumes in some sections. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the resumption of concrete reblocking activities and other repairs in three areas on Edsa, as it had secured a clearance from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
The DPWH said in an advisory that the roadworks were set to start at 10 p.m. Friday and would end at 5 p.m. Monday. The repairs will be on the following sections: The southbound lane of Edsa between Connecticut and Libertad and northbound lane between Temple Drive and United Street in Mandaluyong City; and the northbound (3rd lane) between Quezon Avenue and Landmark.
Apart from Edsa, there will also be repairs on Kamuning Road, between Scout Ybardolaza and Tomas Morato, in Quezon City.
Motorists should avoid these areas and take alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience, the agency said.
