As the new Superman-Batman movie rocket-boosts into production, the movie’s director, Zack Snyder, has given a glimpse of the new Batmobile. Posted on his Instagram account, Snyder reveals the rear of the new car, as well as part of its front. The front includes a look at Batman as well, as portrayed by Ben Affleck. Like the predictably muscle-bound Batman, the new Batmobile looks heavily sculpted. Large rear wheels and what looks like a huge rear wing make this a departure from the tank-like Christopher Nolan “Tumbler” Batmobile. But, in keeping with the very serious tone of DC’s latest Superman and Batman movies, it looks more realistic than the shiny Tim-Burton era cars—if you find that a man (particularly Ben Affleck) who dresses up as a giant bat needs to be realistic.
