Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged mastermind of the “pork barrel” scam claimed that she gave gifts including expensive cars like the Toyota Camry and CR-V to lawmakers or their agents, in exchange for projects.
Napoles also claimed that she gave a Hyundai Starex to Jennifer Corpuz, who allegedly served as agent of Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III. The Starex was supposedly a birthday gift to the senator’s wife.
“Minsan niya rin akong hiningan ng isang Hyundai Starex na ang sabi nya ay ibibigay sa kaarawan ng maybahay ni Senador Sotto (Once she asked for a Hyundai Starex that she said she would give as a birthday present to Senator Sotto’s wife),” Napoles said.
Napoles said that she gave P100 million rebate to Corpuz, for bringing in P200 million worth of special allotment release order (SARO) for the Department of Agrarian Reform.
Napoles also claimed that a certain Tet De Joya, who allegedly served as agent of former congressman Gilbert Remulla, received a Camry and CR-V from her in 2002 as cash advance.
But De Joya, she said, did not deliver the project after receiving the cash advance.
