One of the country’s leading soft drink companies has just chosen the trucks of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) to transport its beverage products all over the country. ARC Refreshments Corp. (ARC) recently purchased a fleet of brand-new Fuso trucks and L200 single cab units, which were turned over recently in a ceremony held in Antipolo City.
ARC is a Filipino-owned company exclusively licensed to manufacture and distribute RC Cola products of RC Cola International. Other brands ARC carries include Fruit Soda Orange, Juicy Lemon and Arcy’s Rootbeer.
ARC announced in a statement that with the nature of its business, it is crucial to invest on reliable vehicles that will be very helpful in meeting delivery targets and requirements.
“The decision to invest in additional brand-new units was triggered by the company’s expansion and growing demand for ARC’s products. With this, the company could not afford any downtime caused by frequent delivery-truck breakdowns,” said ARC EVP and COO Gerry Garcia.
Since 2012, ARC has relied on MMPC for its vehicle needs. “MMPC has long been known for producing very reliable and highly durable trucks. The Fuso Canter trucks and other Mitsubishi vehicles are perfect partner for their expanding business most especially today that ARC has joined the ranks of major players in the beverage industry, with a market share that is steadily increasing every year,” said MMPC EVP for marketing Junya Masuda.
To date, a total of 168 units (Fuso trucks and other Mitsubishi vehicles) were already purchased by ARC from MMPC. More than 50 percent of this figure accounts for the Fuso trucks.
Joining Garcia and Masuda during the turnover ceremony were Rommel Obias, ARC national fleet senior manager; Jerome Cabanos Diamond Motor Co. (DMC) AVP for truck and bus sales; Arthur delos Angeles, DMC VP for operations; Brandon Whisenhunt, DMC AVP for marketing services department; Butch Aves, ARC VP for manufacturing/technical services; and Mark Medina, MMPC VP for vehicle sales operations.
