Race promoter Singapore GP Pte Ltd has announced that Robbie Williams will be performing on Saturday, September 20, 2014, after the Grand Prix’s qualifying session. Williams is the second Padang Stage headliner announced for the event, after Mayday. They will join other performers John Legend, Pet Shop Boys, and Ziggy Marley.
Williams (no relation to Frank, as far as we know), has six albums among the UK’s Top 100 biggest sellers of all time, totaling 70 million albums. He has won 17 BRIT Awards, the British counterpart to the Grammys. He was inducted in the UK Music Hall of Fame as the greatest artist of the 1990s alongside Madonna and Michael Jackson. Robbie Williams was the youngest member of boy band Take That, and embarked on a successful music career after. His albums include “Sing When You’re Winning” and “Escapology.” His latest and tenth studio album “Swings Both Ways” was released in 2013 and became the UK’s fourth best-selling album of the year. Robbie Williams is a car enthusiast. Included reportedly in his collection are: the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, Bentley Azure, Rolls-Royce Phantom, Range Rover, and BMW X6.
Entry to the Robbie Williams concert at the Padang stage as well as all other entertainment in Zone 4 is included with any three-day Singapore Airlines or Saturday Zone 4 Walkabout Ticket.
