Optimus Prime and his cohorts dominated the North American box office for a second straight week, as “Transformers: Age of Extinction” stayed on top of the charts. Industry estimates showed Sunday that the movie earned $36.4 million over the Independence Day weekend. The massive morphing robots epic – the first movie of the year to open with $100 million on the domestic front- has earned $174.7 million over two weeks, according to industry monitor Exhibitor Relations.
“Transformers: Age of Extinction” features prominent product placements including the signature Chevrolet cars Camaro, Sonic, and Spark.
