Datsun launches on-DO sedan for Russian market

Nissan has re-launched the Datsun brand as its nameplate for entry-level cars in developing markets. Datsun has now launched the on-DO sedan designed and engineered specifically for the Russian market.

 

Nissan says that the four-door will bring affordable quality motoring for up-and-coming Russian customers. The car is beign built at the Togliatti plant, a partnership between Nissan-Renault and Russian car company Avtovaz, maker of the infamous Lada.

 

Datsun calls the on-DO a modern, spacious, safe and well-equipped car created to tackle Russia’s road and weather conditions. The result of joint development efforts of an international team of highly experienced engineers from Russia, Japan and other countries, the less than state-of-the-art looking Datsun on-DO was styled at the state-of-the-art Nissan Design Center in Atsugi, Japan.

Datsun on-DO pricing will start at 329,000 Roubles (around P405,000). Datsun is also being sold in Indonesia. There are no plans as of yet to bring the Datsun brand or its products to the Philippines.
