Metro Manila motorists have enough worries on their mind, including traffic, floods, and being assaulted in broad daylight on EDSA. Now, add a person leaping off a flyover. A man jumped off the EDSA-Timog flyover late afternoon Wednesday, causing traffic commotion. A traffic jam ensued as motorists slowed down to look.
An amateur video taken by Michael Balangatan, who happened to be on the 7th floor of a nearby building, showed the man taking his time on where to jump. He intentionally missed the safety net provided by authorities.
The man was identified as Ruel Adana, 34, from Payatas, Quezon City. Problems with his wife and family prompted the man to jump, according to a radio report Thursday.
And now, adding to Adana’s woes is where to get the money to pay for his medical bills at the East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City where he was brought after injuring himself in the incident that was caught on video that went viral, the report said.
By the time rescuers were laying down a mattress to cushion his fall, Adana had jumped.
