While engaging in intimate acts inside cars is not considered a crime in the Philippines, at least according to the Chief of the Quezon City Police District, a teenage couple was arrested in Malaysia after they rammed into several cars in a bid to escape authorities. They were reportedly caught having sex in a car.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Azmi Abu Kassim said prior to the incident, the suspects, both 17 were found acting suspiciously in a blue Inokom Atos (sold in the Philippines as the Hyundai Atos) before they were approached by a patrol team at about 10.30 p.m. in Jalan Teknologi 3/6, Kota Damansara, Tuesday night.

“The driver had parked the car at a dark, deserted industrial place.

“Sensing that something was amiss, our men went to approach the teenagers but they immediately sped off when they were asked to step out of the car,” he said Wednesday.

ACP Azmi said a high-speed chase ensued but ended about an hour later near the Damansara toll plaza when the car driven by the suspect crashed into a Honda Civic.

“The suspects were arrested immediately at the scene.

“They suffered minor injuries and were sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment before being sent to the Shah Alam central lock-up,” he said, adding that several cars were damaged.

The case is being investigated for dangerous driving and obstructing a public servant from performing his duty.
