MANILA, Philippines–Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI), the country’s official sales company of the global automotive giant, introduces itself as the newest member of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (Campi) at the upcoming 5th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
Spearheaded by Campi, the lead organization of the local automotive industry, the 5th PIMS will be held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City on Sept. 18-20.
Icons, newcomers
With “Progress in Motion” as the theme of the 2014 PIMS, it will serve as a platform to showcase both the iconic and the new automotive brands and models, while highlighting the collective achievements of the industry and its contribution to economic growth.
Not only is NPI on its first year of operation as one consolidated unit, the Japanese car brand Nissan will also celebrate exciting firsts in the Philippines, beginning with its debut at the PIMS.
Being part of Campi and participating in the 5th PIMS is a statement for Nissan. Exciting times are up ahead for the brand, being at the epicenter of a market-share battle in one of Asia’s fastest growing economies. Its effort to consolidate its assets and beef up its portfolio is a testament to how bullish the brand is in the industry.
Nissan is set to launch the much-awaited compact SUV, the all-new X-Trail. The third-generation X-Trail undeniably embodies an attractive styling and exciting firsts in segment features.
The all-new X-Trail is a global model that will be sold in 190 countries worldwide.
It has been successfully launched in the United States, Australia and Japan. As for its launch in the country, it is one of the first in the Asean region.
Along with the all-new X-Trail, the Almera, the new Sylphy, the new Altima and the new Patrol Super Safari will also be showcased in the said motor show.
“People can expect more from Nissan. We have taken PIMS as an opportunity to launch the all-new Nissan X-Trail. It is an addition to our portfolio that is expected to become a formidable player in the compact SUV segment. Its launch is something that old and new Nissan fans can look forward to,” said Antonio Zara, NPI president and managing director.
Raising profile
With his experience in the automotive industry of over 20 years, Zara is at the helm of taking the lead in improving NPI’s performance in the industry.
Having been assigned in different Asian markets such as Korea, Japan, Thailand and Indonesia prior to his appointment as the new NPI head, Zara is determined to lead the company to raise its profile in the Philippines.
Zara is taking the country’s current economic growth as an opportunity to establish Nissan as a stronger unit, starting with its membership and participation in Campi and the 2014 PIMS, respectively.
