The cast and crew of Fast and Furious 7, aka Furious 7, had a treat for its fans post-Halloween. The blockbuster movie series launched its first full trailer for the movie coming in April 2015. As expected, the cast is shown in their full, car-abusing glory, from the late Paul Walker to Vin Diesel, to new cast members Jason Statham, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Kurt Russell.
The film already looks like a greatest hits compilation from the previous six movies. The opening montage features a modified Subaru Impreza, Dodge Challenger, and other cars parachuting down from a plane and Paul Walker eventually doing a stunt worthy of James Bond or Captain America. These aren’t the street racers from The Fast and the Furious any more. They’re superheroes with steering wheels.
The film series has already grossed $2.4 billion since 2001. Expectations for the new movie are past the redline, particularly with the demise of Paul Walker after crashing in a fast car last year.
The trailer is marked for appropriate audiences and is not suitable for young children.
