MANILA, Philippines—Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Francis Tolentino on Monday urged the passenger of Maserati driver Joseph Russel Ingco to surface and speak out on the controversial mauling incident.
“The passenger of Mr. Ingco could shed light on the incident considering that the passenger was just a few inches away from the Maserati driver,” Tolentino said in a statement.
“Either umawat siya or tumulong siya, in that case the passenger is also liable,” Tolentino said.
Last Thursday, Ingco allegedly mauled MMDA traffic constable Jorbe Adriatico after the enforcer took a video of the businessman making an illegal turn on a Quezon City intersection.
Adriatico, who suffered a broken nose during the incident, said Ingco was accompanied by a man who told him to stop beating and release Adriatico.
But on Friday, Ingco vehemently denied Adriatico’s account, claiming the enforcer initiated the assault. -With report by Julliane Love De Jesus
