Ford PH November sales jump 62 percent

Ranger Wildtrak 4Ford Philippines announced their best-ever November performance with total retail sales jumping 62 percent year-over-year to 1,924 units, led by continued strength in demand for the Ranger, EcoSport and Everest nameplates.

 

The record November performance was yet another achievement in Ford’s remarkable run in 2014, helping year-to-date sales rise to 18,438 units, a 53 percent increase over last year.

 

Sales of the class-defining Ranger jumped 56 percent year-over-year to 746 units, led by strong consumer demand for the pickup truck’s 13 variants in the Philippines, driving year-to-date sales of 7,040 units, a 68 percent increase over last year.

 

The Ford EcoSport continued to be in demand, as sales rose to 681 units in November. The popular compact urban SUV has sold a total of 4,666 units since launching in the Philippines in April. Sales of the Everest SUV contributed 244 units, helping year-to-date totals rise to 2,980 units, up 17 percent over the same period last year.

 

“The success of our performance in the Philippines this year is a proven result of the strength of the One Ford plan,” said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines. “From the versatility of the Ranger pickup, to the proven performance of the EcoSport and the reliability of the Everest SUV, our global line-up of vehicles have been a dependable hit among Filipino customers.”

 

Sales of the Ford Explorer sales reached 60 units, bringing year-to-date sales to 998 units. Ford recently launched both the Explorer Sport and Escape, both equipped with Ford’s award-winning fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine. The Escape is currently available for bookings and pre-orders, with customer delivery beginning in January 2015.

 

“The additions of the high-performance Explorer Sport and premium Escape to our showrooms help expand our unmatched SUV offering in the country,” said Hart. “Through them we look forward to further providing customers even more options to suit their every need.”

 

In November, Ford was also recognized with the 3.2L Ranger Wildtrak being named Truck of the Year for 2014-2015 by Car Awards Group, Inc. (CAGI), marking the second consecutive year the Ranger has been the recipient of this prestigious award.

 

The 1.5L EcoSport Titanium won CAGI’s Spyder Innovation Award, while the EcoSport was also recognized at the Auto Focus People’s Choice Awards as the 2014-2015 Standard Compact SUV of the year. The Fiesta, Explorer, and Mustang were also recognized, for a total of 13 titles presented to Ford from CAGI and the Auto Focus People’s and Media’s Choice Awards in November.

 

On track with its plans to expand its nationwide dealership network to 36locationsby the end of the year, the Ford Alabang mega-dealership was inaugurated on November 15.The celebration was attended by a number of company executives, including Dave Schoch, group vice president and president, Asia Pacific; Elena Ford, vice president, Global Dealer and Consumer Experience; and Matt Bradley, president, Ford ASEAN.

 

The five-floor facility is the biggest dealership in the country and one of the largest Ford dealerships across the ASEAN region.
