Last October, Presa Tyres Philippines launched a unique promo for Presa tire buyers that gave away a limited edition shirt for every pair of tire they purchased during the promo period and also got to donate to a recipient orphanage. For every tire purchased, Presa pledged an amount in behalf of the customer and the dealer to Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home, Inc..
Tahanan ng Pagmamahal is a sanctuary for orphaned and oftentimes abused and abandoned children. Founded on May 8, 2007, it is one of Bro. Bo Sanchez’ ministries for the marginalized, who are completely dependent on God’s providence.
Planning for the orphanage began in 2006 when a group of friends was moved by the sight of thousands of street kids roaming the city. These kids live and sleep in the streets and back alleys and are often exposed to the dangers of criminal elements. Aside from regular donations, volunteer doctors, dentists, catechists, tutors also played their roles in giving these children a brighter future.
Last December 20th, the entire Presa sales team led by its Chief Operations Officer, Ronald L. Ang and Presa Regional Sales Manager for Luzon, Daniel Martinez, Jr., turned over the amount raised to the orphanage. The team also donated boxes of much-needed items such as milk, diapers and canned goods.
“This is just the beginning,” shares Martinez. “We plan on continuing what we’ve started. Nothing compares to seeing the joy in the eyes of the kids and hearing their laughter.”
“This is the first time we’ve done something like this in Metro Manila,” adds Ang. “We’ve had initiatives like this in Cebu and Tacloban through Maxxis Cares but I guess it really doesn’t matter where or how you do it. The joy you feel when you help a fellow man or woman, specially children in need are just beyond words.”
Presa Tyres are manufactured in Thailand by Cheng Shin Tires, makers of one of the world’s top tire brand, Maxxis.
