18 years after the Mercedes-Benz M-Class went head-to-head with a Tyrannosaurus Rex in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, another Benz is set to debut at Jurassic World. This time it’s the GLE, Merc’s category-busting off-road coupe. The GLE will star alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Steven Spielberg is executive producer on the movie, while Colin Trevorrow directs.
Mercedes had a prototype vehicle handbuilt for the movie, in advance of its launch mid this year. The GLE 450 AMG Sport will roll in “dynamic off-road scenes” set in the tropical backdrop of Jurassic World, on the Hawaiian islands of Oahu and Kaua’i in real life, and on NASA terrain in New Orleans.
“Unveiling the new GLE Coupé in Jurassic World was a natural fit as we continue our relationship with Mercedes,” said producer Frank Marshall. “Audiences will find that the vehicles featured in the film lend themselves perfectly as the transportation of choice in the fully functioning international theme park we have created at Jurassic World.”
Alongside the Mercedes-Benz vehicles featuring in the movie, an extensive co-promotion package is planned for the cinema release.
