British supercar brand Aston Martin is coming to the Philippines. It will be under the stable of Wellington Soong, who is also the distributor of Ferrari, Maserati, Jaguar and Land Rover in the Philippines. Mr. Soong will be the exclusive importer and distributor of the Aston Martin brand under DBPhils Motorsports Inc.
The deal was recently inked at the Aston Martin World Dealers Conference in London, with no less than Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer to formalize the agreement. Mr. Palmer had been the second-in-command at Nissan-Renault before deciding to head the British luxury brand.
Aston Martin currently sells the Vanquish, DB9 and Vantage S sports cars, and the Rapide four-door sedan. The “entry level” Vantage starts at about $123,000 while the Rapide starts at more than $200,000 (US pricing, before shipping and taxes).
With his official distribution of the car made famous by Bond, James Bond, Mr. Soong now has the complete collection to shoot his own movie. Jaguar and Land Rover were recently announced to take the role of the villain cars in the upcoming Bond movie “Spectre,” while Aston Martin will supply Bond with the all-new DB10 supercar.
