MANILA, Philippines—Aside from the P3.74-billion rehabilitation of Edsa and the construction of the P1.05-billion underpass in the Makati City central business district, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) also plans to start working this year on three other major road projects in Metro Manila with initial budget allocations of P1.46 billion.
These are the building of the Gov. Forbes-España Interchange in Manila, the widening of the C-5 Kalayaan-Bagong Ilog flyover in Pasig City, and the construction of the Bonifacio Global City-Ortigas Avenue link road in Taguig and Pasig.
These projects are given budget allocations of P500 million, P500 million and P463.5 million, respectively, according to the 2015 DPWH Budget Report. The funds will be used mainly for the projects’ right-of-way acquisitions, according to the agency’s public information office.
The department has also set aside P374.14 million for the rehabilitation and maintenance of the national road network in Manila. Jerry E. Esplanada
