Pastor parents to Dalia: Come out and face the law

February 27,2015

MANILA, Philippines—The mother of slain car racing champion Enzo Pastor on Thursday called on her daughter-in-law Dalia Guerrero to come out and face the law.

“We ask Dalia to surface and face the court at least for the sake of my son, Enzo, and their children,” Remy Pastor told reporters when she and her husband Tomas came to the Department of Justice (DOJ) to get the official copy of the resolution finding probable cause to charge Guerrero with parricide and businessman Domingo “Sandy” de Guzman with murder.

Guerrero failed to appear during the preliminary investigation at the DOJ.

The case has been filed in the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.

Pastor also asked for prayers for her two grandchildren whom she said they have not seen since December.

The Pastor children, both boys aged 6 and 9, are in the custody of Guerrero’s parents. They are currently fighting to get their custody.

“We request for everyone to pray for the protection and guidance of our two granchildren.  They are in the custody of Dalia’s parents who have refused for us to see the two boys, who are the last link to our son,” said Pastor.

The couple feared that their grandchildren were already taken out of the country.

“We found out that from Jan. 5 up to now they have been absent in school,” Pastor said.

She added that they could not even have the ashes of their son Enzo.

The couple said they are still puzzled as to why their daughter-in-law could do that to her husband.

“We’re still asking why.  Enzo loved her so much.  I don’t know what happened,” Pastor said.

The couple expressed gratitude to the DOJ for recommending that cases be filed in court some six and a half months since Enzo’s death. –Tetch Torres-Tupas
