This coming April, the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) will once again showcase the latest and newest car models available in the local market. Aside from this, other highlights of the event include highly customized and classic cars of several genres, the latest aftermarket accessories and equipment in the auto industry. Last year, the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) celebrated its 10th anniversary and continuing its tradition of celebrating automotive exposition excellence, and will once again hold the MIAS on April 9 to 12 with over 30,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor exhibit floor areas at the World Trade Center and Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC).

Some 100,000 visitors trekked to its four-day weekend show last year and with the long holiday weekend this year, its organizers are expecting another banner year as car buyers will get to see that one-stop-shop venue MIAS is always known for. With a double-digit growth in visitor traffic, Jill Ang, the managing director of Worldbex Services International, the organizer of the MIAS, said that last year they had 135 companies from the automotive and motorcycle as well as the aftermarket industry joined the show. A total of 11 new model debuts and launches were held.  One of the continuing attractions of the MIAS is the spectacular daily stunt performances of  UK precision driver Russ Swift, who will once again fly to Manila to perform at the MIAS.

Shop and save
For the fourth consecutive year, BPI Auto Loans is the event’s official presentor and auto loans partner. There will be a special booth on the World Trade Center’s lobby as well as a pavilion at the building’s main hall to welcome car buyers who are looking to finance their car purchases. BPI will be able to cater to people who want to buy cars on the spot and with easy and hassle-free credit application.

MIAS is slated on April 9 to 12 at the World Trade Center.

As a supporting event, MIAS will continue to hold its Petron-MIAS Custom Classic Car Competition with almost 100 cars vying for top honors competing for the best-of-show and other category wins.  The Automobile Association Philippines is also holding its annual Driver of the Year gala awards night on the first day of the MIAS, honoring the country’s top drivers in various motorsport disciplines.

The first MIAS was held in 2005 with only about 8,000 sq m  of indoor exhibition space and about 3,000 sq m of outdoor displays, the show has grown triple in size and double in visitor count over the years. It has been an annual venue for car brands to introduce their newest models in the market to the buying public.

2 compounds, 4 buildings
Despite holding the event in two compounds, namely the World Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM) and PTTC, Worldbex Services has constructed several air-conditioned connecting hallways joining the four independent building structures. From WTCMM’s main building to its East Wing Tent Building, a 4,000-sq-m temporary tent building was also specially constructed to house its automotive aftermarket displays to provide additional floor area for more exhibits and a 400-sq-m food court. The new layout provided a seamless connectivity from WTCMM to PTTC, where the custom and classic cars are displayed. This allows visitors to hop from one building to another without having to go outdoors.

Visit the Manila International Auto Show from April 9 to 12, with show hours from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily (Thursday to Sunday) at the WTCMM and PTTC.
