FOTON Philippines gave a strong message this year at the Manila International Auto Show 2015 which opened last April 9 to 12 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City to over 110,000 visitors, breaking the 102,000 visitor record last year.
The new 5-year warranty offer raised the bar for the Foton-Cummins ISF-powered Thunder and View Traveller, and had been consistently viewed by vehicle seekers during the event.
The warranty reinforced Foton’s reputation of being an established brand as well as a maker of durable and quality vehicles. The reputation of these two vehicles was proven by the warm welcome from the public.
The success of the Foton Thunder and View Traveller can be attributed to its engines. These vehicles come with the reputable 2.8 liter Cummins ISF CRDi engines which are jointly built by Foton and Cummins, the world’s leading manufacturer of diesel engines.
The GTL 6×4 Tractor Head and Tornado C—launched at Foton’s Big Show 2014—are also equipped with Foton-Cummins engines, a massive 11-liter ISG diesel engine for the GTL, and a 3.8-liter ISF diesel engine for the Tornado C.
The Foton-Cummins engines on these two workhorses are virtual guarantees of long-term dependability and productivity for commercial use.
Foton’s Light Duty Trucks line-up were represented by the Tornado C and the Tornado 3.5 Crane truck, which were on display. With its proven reliability and durability, the trucks caught the attention of businessmen who attended the event. Clients from different industries could easily configure the Tornado to suit their businesses’ requirements.
Being the biggest rig on the floor, The GTL 6×4 Tractor head was a head turner. This truck was praised and got the attention of logistics companies as a highly profitable vessel. This truck was designed and built in collaboration with the German Daimler Benz Group to meet exceptional performance and keep the operation of this vehicle cost efficient.
Along with this, the truck can be driven worry-free as it comes with after sales service and support under the Foton Total Care program.
The 15-seater TransVan, a variant fit for the commuter van business, boasted of a seat layout that provides more comfortable seating compared to other commuter vans. This seat configuration also provided foldable seats, enabling versatility in carrying either more cargo or passengers. This is definitely a great option for business uses.
On display was a customized View Traveller that would be perfect for the kids and kids at heart. A View Traveller that was customized to look like “Baymax” was recreated by Atoy. Showcasing the unique ride, owner Alonzo Muhlach arrived at the Foton booth with his Hiro Hamada costume together with Atoy Lim Llave, owner of Atoy- body kits who flaunted the View Traveller’s special modifications.
On the 3rd day of the event, the Foton booth got a visit from one of the promising teams in the ongoing Philippine SuperLiga conference—the Foton Tornadoes ladies volleyball team. Their fans raced to the Foton Booth and got a chance to meet the team and take photos with them.
Foton was surely one of the attractions at the MIAS 2015 even if it did not launch a vehicle during the event. Its interesting vehicle display is proof that big things are happening for Foton this year and in the years to come.
